GDR German Army medal for excellent performance in the armed forces. "Fur Ausgezeichnete Leistungen". The Medal for Excellence in the Armed Organs of the Ministry of the Interior was a state award of the German Democratic Republic (GDR). The medal was donated on June 4, 1959. It was awarded to the collectives and members of the armed forces of the MDI as well as to civilians for their excellent performance of the tasks, in particular, the strengthening and consolidation of the GDR in this context. It could also be awarded to volunteers of the People's Police.
